These photographs are of my sister, Naomi. She is a great sister, and was very helpful in finding people to photograph. If it wasn't for her, I might not have had enough pictures by Monday. She's also currently home sick (not COVID), so I hope she'll be better soon. These photos were both taken in the front yard of our house, in front of a couple of the plants that live there. When I was thinking about how I was going to take the pictures before I started, it hadn't occurred to me how many plants there were in people's yards, so I was upset that I was just going to be taking a bunch of pictures of people in front of houses. But when I started taking these pictures (they were the first ones I took), I realized that there were enough plants to give each photo its own unique background. Knowledge of some composition tools was helpful, too. I paid attention to the rule of thirds, although at times it was difficult to maintain when cropping images. I was also thinking about how the light filtered through the leaves onto her head, and positioned her based on that. Additionally, I was thinking about how the plants fit into the frame in order to make them visually pleasing too. As a whole, these photographs were very interesting to take.
